    • Fern Topham Byard 1920 ~ 2010 Our beloved Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, sister, and aunt,

      Fern Topham Byard passed away on Feb. 22, 2010 at the age of 89. Mom was born to Pearl Garfield and Melvin Topham in York, Juab County, Utah on May 17, 1920.
      She married Rex J. Byard November 24, 1941 in Pasadena, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple.
      She was a hard worker, a wonderful homemaker and a beautiful gardener. Her yard was admired by many friends and neighbors. She had a wonderful sense of humor bringing smiles to the faces of family and friends.

      She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one sisters.
      She leaves behind two daughters,
      Ann Young (John) and
      Kay Gagon (LaMar),
      seven grandchildren,
      25 great-grandchildren, four sisters,
      two sisters-in-law, and
      two brothers-in-law.

      Funeral services will be held at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, UT on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 12 noon. A viewing will be held at the mortuary from 10 to 11:45 on Thursday prior to the services. The family would like to thank all of her friends and staff at Legacy House Assisted Living and also Sunbrook Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
