Born in Guysborough, he was a son of the late Owen and Gussy (Clyke) Byard.
Junie is survived by his daughter, Josephine Borden (Leo MacDonald); sisters, Gail, Janice (Norman); brothers, Raymond (Brenda), Doug (Linda), Allan (Lisa), Clair (Valerie); grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Christopher and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Roberta Penney; and brother, Walter.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd.
Interment will be held at a later date.
