Raymond L. Hamilton (Ray), 75, died at Overland Park Regional. Ray was born to Richard and Audrey Hamilton. He was the 2nd child born in a family of 18. Ray served in the Korean War in the 52nd Artillery Battalion. Ray was an electrician and worked for the Kansas City Terminal for 20 years, Bendix, and Board of Public Utilities for 18 years and retired from there on April 1, 1991. July 3, 1954, Ray married Loretta Byard, his wife of 50 years at St. Peter's Cathedral. He dedicated his time to numerous volunteer jobs with his kids, such as, being a cub scout and scout leader for eight years, coaching four years of girls basketball for Christ the King, and eight years of softball at Wyco. He usually could be found at any Bishop Ward Basketball or Football game, where he enjoyed talking with any and everyone, never met a stranger. His hobbies included many fishing trips with his Bass boat, sporting events, and landscaping jobs, no matter the size, and any event involving his precious grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his son Kenny, father Richard, brothers Bob, Earl and Roy, Sisters Mary and Ollie. Ray is survived by his wife of 50 years Loretta, 1 son, 2 daughters and their husbands, 1 granddaughter, and 4 grandsons. He also leaves here on earth his dear mother, 7 sisters, 3 brothers, numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
