      Evelyn was a long time member of First Baptist Church.

      She was born on March 29, 1927 in Gi-rard, Alabama then moved to Co-lumbus, Georgia where she grew up and married William E. Byard, Jr. on September 9, 1945.

      Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Will H. and Mable McCune and her sisters, Frances Dykes and Lucille Richards.

      Evelyn is survived by
      her husband, William E. Byard, Jr.;
      brothers, James H. McCune of Thomaston, Georgia,
      William T. McCune and his wife Bea McCune of Columbus, Georgia.
      Her chil-dren, Rodney W. Byard and wife Rebecca Page Byard of Montgom-ery, Alabama,
      Kenneth W. Byard and wife Laura Deavours Byard of Grantville, Georgia, and
      Janice Byard Lott and husband Alan Lott of Birmingham.

      Evelyn was lovingly referred to as (Evie÷ and (Mimi÷ by her grandchildren Leslie Anne Byard Benner and husband Mi-chael Benner of Atlanta, Georgia; Philip William Byard of Atlanta, Georgia, Mary Evelyn Lott, Allyson Lynn Lott, and Ann Douglas Lott of Birmingham. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

      Services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the main sanctuary of First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour pri-or. Pallbearers will be: Dr. David Morris, Wayland Nobles, James B. Baldwin, Charles E. Lynn, Dr. M.P. Harrison, Dr. Alva G. Parks, Dr. Chester Jernigan, Lt. Col. William Hugh Naftel, Henry W. Steindorff, Jr., Burton Martin, Doyle Powell, Jerry Britton, Norman Vowell, Lt. Col. Cur-tis Beazley and Dr. W.E. Truett. In lieu of flowers the family has re-quested that memorials be made to: First Baptist Church Caring Cen-ter, OR: First Baptist Church Founda-tion. Leak-Memory Chapel Directing
